Today's Blog is for those that are helping me do this thing, or those just interested in the process of how to do all of this. If you are just interested in the walks, please skip to the next post.
After weeks of tearing my hair out and wrestling electrons I have completed enough of my first tour to share it with you, albeit as a work in progress. West County Train, Forestville. Also my first "Museum" Rural Cemetery.
The idea behind this whole blog is that it is for people that are marginal tech users, so I will need to create some detailed instructionals to fill in for those that are not fluent in speaking technobable. This is a learning process for me as well, so please please please let me know if you find stumbling blocks or vast canyons in my directions.
I know I promised not to flood you inbox with a bunch of stuff, so I am splitting this post into two separate posts to make it possible to to skip this bit of rambling from the actual instructional on how to use the tours site and app.
I am going to use https://izi.travel/en While it is not perfect, it does most of the stuff I want it to do and doesn't do a lot of stuff I don't like.

I am going to use https://izi.travel/en While it is not perfect, it does most of the stuff I want it to do and doesn't do a lot of stuff I don't like.
The Up Side
- Free: The app is free, The tours are mostly free. When I do some of my more ambitious work I can charge a small amount if I like. There are a few ads, but not oppressively so.
- On Line: You can look at the entire piece on your computer. You have access to all of the photos and comentary. I can share my travels with my armchair travel buddies.
- Off Line: You can download the pieces into your phone when you are on WiFi but do not need to use up all of your data plan just to walk around a city.
The Down Side
- Like many geeks, the developers don't get that many of us don't instinctively understands how all of this tech stuff works.
- The authors of this program do not speak English so there is an occasional linguistic snafu.
- One of those glitches is that as you get deeper into the site getting back to the first page becomes inpossible. There is no Home button. Keep the link https://izi.travel/en handy and if the maze becomes impossible just return there.
- This site was developed for use by museums, and I may eventually use it that way. So they use terms a bit differently than I would have. Tourist Attraction means anything I want to point out to you. I add photos and comentary in both text and audio form. Museum is a collection of Tourist Attractions that I have put into one pile for you to wander around and look at. Tour is a bunch of Attractions with a route between them.
I am going to give you my friends the magic passcode to look at my work in progress. Zlnsib
